Email messages in various formats doing rounds online since many years come to alert the recipient about a secret plot to steal his Contract/Inheritance Funds from an official Settlement/Payment Platform. They say that a group of officials are working with a highly influential Saudi businessman to steal your inheritance funds – by trying to convince the concerned settlement officials that you (email recipient) are dead. It is also said that the person sending you the email is concerned about you not losing the inheritance funds and that he wants you to respond to him and act further to save the money from being stolen. No, the claims are not facts.

The aforementioned email messages are actually sent out and controlled by scammers whose sole intention is to get replies from the recipients. Once the user gets to believe in the story they fabricate, the scammers get into a dialog and grab personal information from the user that can be misused. In some cases the scammers also steal money from the users by making false claims like they need to pay some kind of charges to release their inheritance funds. Note that “inheritance funds” is a common term used by online scammers. So people are advised to discard these fraudulent emails; do not reply with any personal information.
