An article in circulation claims to present a special report that investigated the effectiveness of a weight loss program using a combination of supplements Pure Cambogia Ultra and Pure Life Cleanse. It is said that the combo diet weight loss program can help you lose at least 10 kg of stomach fat in just one month. As a supposed proof, the article mentions the weight loss cases (pictures) of popular Bollywood actresses.
About Article & Claims
The article that appeared on website chanhealthonline.com describes the Cambogia fruit as the Holy Grail of Weight Loss. The special report says that when Pure Cambogia Ultra is used in combination with Pure Life Cleanse it will rapidly burn fat off your physique and also flush out all the destructive toxins from your body, to increase your metabolism without harming your immune system. Dubbed as the popular Hollywood diet, it is said that the combo diet is now extremely popular with celebrities in Bollywood, mentioning celebrity names like Sonam Kapoor, Katrina Kaif, Kareena Kapoor and Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan. At the end, the article (remember it is presented as report) also mentions some user reviews to state that the combo diet has achieved fantastic weight loss results within 4 weeks.
About Cambogia Fruit
Garcinia Cambogia is the common name of Garcinia gummi-gutta, a tropical species of Garcinia native to Indonesia. Other common names include gambooge, brindleberry, brindall berry, Malabar tamarind, Assam fruit, vadakkan puli and kudam puli. Garcinia Cambogia is a fruit that looks like a small pumpkin and is green to pale yellow in color.
According to Purdue University, Cambogia is rich in calcium, phosphorus, iron, thiamine, riboflavin, and niacin. It also contains a compound called Hydroxycitric acid (HCA), which proponents claim decreases appetite and prevents your body from storing food as fat. There are mixed results about the effectiveness of the fruit as weight loss supplement, along with some safety concerns. A 2005 study in Food and Chemical Toxicology found that high doses of garcinia cambogia extract caused testicular atrophy and toxicity in mice. You can read a detailed review on garcinia cambogia on website NutritionAdvance.com.
There are also concerns about the other product Pure Life Cleanse, that it can have side effects.
Flaws & Misleading Claims
Presented as the staff reporter for the website, Aadhya Sharma who supposedly investigated the weight loss solution is, in fact, Neha Kirpal, the founder & director of India Art Fair. The webpage with title ‘Fit Mum Daily’ appears like health news report, but note that all other links in the page, including those in the main menu, redirect to the products’ sale/promotional pages. Significantly, at the bottom of the webpage is a note saying “THIS IS AN ADVERTISEMENT AND NOT AN ACTUAL NEWS ARTICLE, BLOG, OR CONSUMER PROTECTION UPDATE**,” and also a genuine statement that FDA only evaluates foods and drugs, not supplements like these products.
The article, i.e. promotional advertisement, in fact, is cleverly presented as a special report of investigation into the efficacy of the weight loss supplements done by what is said to be ‘Fit Mum Daily India Magazine’. Using other websites like fitmumdaily-news.com, we have seen very similar marketing of the products in UK & Egypt as well — “Fit Mum Daily Egypt to expose the truth behind a new diet sweeping Egypt (or UK)“.
Notably, the product sale page at thepurecambogiaultra.com, the who is information of which is hidden, has low trust rating, and there are also user complaints about misleading sales and loss of money thereby.
The special report article on website chanhealthonline.com about weight loss combo diet using products Pure Cambogia Ultra & Pure Life Cleanse is just a marketing advertisement using fake credentials. Considering all the aforementioned facts and flaws about the products and the website selling them, all this appears to be a possible scam.
