Story:
Quite a few people on Twitter were receiving these kind of Phishing Direct messages in their Twitter account inbox. The messages were personalized and therefore looked genuine and attractive.

Hey, i found a website with your pic on it… LOL check it out here twitterblog.access-logins.com/login
“You seen what this person is saying about you? [www.example.com] terrible things..”
“Want to lose any weight? go here: [www.example.com] best product for losing weight”
Analysis:
Several messages like this were sent as phishing direct messages to Twitter users, the purpose of which is simply to hack your Twitter account, steal your log in details and further spread the messages to your followers through public and private messages. Since the messages looked genuine, many users had to compromise their accounts without even knowing about it.
Twitter has always been a popular platform to hack the user’s account information and take unfair advantage of it. Twitter users should be careful with suspicious messages from unknown people. If you think your account is compromised, make sure to change your password quickly, and also revoke your account access to the applications that you use. You can do this in the application settings of your Twitter account.
