This is a 15 foot Western Diamondback rattlesnake – the largest ever caught on record,
This snake was found Near the St. Augustine outlet, in a new KB homes subdivision just south of Mesa Az.
A little research revealed the following:
One bite from a snake of this size would contain enough venom to kill over 40 full grown men.
The head of this snake alone is larger than the hand of a normal sized man.
A bite from those fangs would be comparable to being stabbed by two curved, 1/4 inch diameter screwdrivers.
The knife being used to draw out the fangs for the bottom picture has a blade around 6 inche long.
This snake is estimated to have weighed over 170 pounds. (How much do you weigh?)
Notice the girth of this snake as compared to the cop’s leg in the first picture (and he is not a small man).
A snake of this size could easily swallow a 2 year-old child and dogs, pigs, etc).
A snake this size has an approximately 5 1/2 foot accurate striking distance.
(The distance for an average size rattlesnake is about 2 feet. )
This snake has probably been alive since George Bush Sr. was President.

What a monster! I made a call to the St. John’s County Sheriff’s office and the lady who answered the phone said it is real and happened about two months ago which would put it in September or October, 2009. I have heard of Eastern Diamond Backs being killed that were in excess of 8 feet long which is huge but this is almost twice that size. Makes you want to not go outside without a powerful flashlight at night.
Analysis:
These pictures of a large Snake have been circulating through emails and social networking sites for at least four years now. The messages that come with these pictures claim that the Eastern Diamondback Rattlesnake was 15 foot in length and the biggest ever caught on record. It is a fact that the pictures indeed show an eastern diamondback rattlesnake, but almost everything is exaggerated and fictitious.
The Incident
In September 2009, the giant eastern diamondback rattlesnake that was found in St. Augustine of Florida was caught and killed by trappers after a resident of Tuscany Village Townhomes called police to report a “possible 6-foot long snake”.
Chuck Mulligan, a spokesman for the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office, who saw the snake only in photographs, estimated it could be at least 10 feet in length. There were also speculations that it could be the biggest eastern diamondback rattlesnake ever caught on record. However, the trappers who killed the giant, venomous rattlesnake later said the snake was 7 feet 3 inches long. The snake in pictures appeared larger than what it actually is, because of the position at which they were taken. The snake was closer to the photographer than the law enforcement officer shown in the background. Eastern Diamondback Rattlesnake
Eastern Diamondback Rattlesnake (Crotalus adamanteus) is the largest venomous snake in North America, some of which reach 8 feet (2.4 meters) in length, weighing up to 10 pounds. Their average size being 3.5 to 5.5 ft, the longest eastern diamondback rattlesnake on record measured 8 feet. Whereas a juvenile rattlesnake measures anything from 6 to 12 inches.
As far as the weight of the snake is concerned, the claims that it could be 170 pounds are exaggerated. If we consider an average 6-foot-long adult eastern diamondback at around 10 pounds, a 15 foot long snake, as claimed, which is just more than twice its size, can never reach a whooping 170 pounds, or even 70 like mentioned in some cases.
A very similar claim in the past said a 55 Feet Snake was found in Forest of Malaysia.
