Analysis:
The messages claim that Archaeologist researchers have unearthed Alien-like Skulls in a Mexican Cemetery. It is a fact, although researchers later confirmed that they are not of aliens, but human skulls.

These alien-like skulls were discovered when residents of a small Mexican village called Onavas found a cemetery in 1999, while they were building an irrigation canal. Since it was the first pre-Hispanic cemetery found in the northern Mexican state of Sonora, it created lot of interest and thoughts that the skulls could belong to Aliens. However, researches clarified that the skull remains were that of humans only. The site where the so called alien skulls were found was called El Cementerio, and actually contained the remains of 25 human burials. 13 of these buried humans had deformed skulls – elongated and pointy at the back, while 5 had mutilated teeth. Among them, 17 were children aged between 5 months and 16 years, and interestingly, there was only one female skeleton in all. Most of these skeletons were with ornaments like bracelets, earrings, nose rings, pendants and necklaces made from snails and seashells from the Gulf of California. One person among these was buried with a turtle shell on his chest, and one skull in particular was in elongated cone shape that closely resembled the common science fiction depictions of an alien.

Archaeologist researchers started studying into these human burial remains at El Cementerio and came up with a report. They said that the skeletons were of humans who belonged to a culture 1000 years back, when the shapes of children’s heads were deliberately distorted right from their birth. The normal growth of a child’s skull used to be distorted by applying force, like binding wooden boards against their heads by using clothes. This is scientifically called as Artificial Cranial Deformation. See pictures above and below. This custom of cranial deformation of skulls was earlier believed to have existed in pre-Hispanic populations of Central America, Mesoamerica and western Mexico; the present findings suggest that this tradition spread farther north. Researchers believe that people followed this cranial deformation as a ritual, and to differentiate one social group from another. The human skulls found at El Cementerio also had deformed teeth, a traditional custom again, called Dental Mutilation that involved filing or grinding teeth into odd shapes.

To conclude, these interesting alien-like human skulls were indeed found in Mexican cemetery. The researchers are planning for further studies into determining the total size of the cemetery, hoping to find more burials and a better picture of the burial customs of those people.
