This is a great information worth circulating and sharing with one and all…
This is an old and widely circulated message which talks about a study of an American scientist Dr. Howard Steingeril. Allegedly, he tested and concluded Gayathri Mantra (or Gayatri Mantra) as the most powerful hymn in the world. The claims, in totality, are mixture of hoax and facts as described below.
Gayatri Mantra Powerful Hymn?
In the first place, Gayatri Mantra is definitely one of the powerful mantras. Chanting it regularly will elevate you as a person – in mind and soul. So in long term, the resulting positive vibrations can imbibe several healthy and good qualities in your behavior and body also.
Gayatri Mantra is a mythological description of the Mother of the Vedas – Goddess Gayathri. The word “Gayatri” in fact originated from the Sanskrit phrase Gayantam Triyate iti. It refers to the mantra rescuing the person chanting from all adverse situations leading to mortality. Regular chanting of the Gayatri Mantra is known to improve intellect and the power of concentration, speech and memory. So, chanting Gayatri Mantra daily is considered important for children. About Dr. Howard Steingeril and His Study
Our online research did not yield any information about Dr. Howard Steingeril or his studies on Gayatri Mantra. We also did not find any such study conducted from Hamburg University. Looks like these messages basically started circulating through emails and then the same information is copied and spread over again and again. The initial online source of these messages appears like a Facebook post of Ancient Indian Alien Science Behind Alien Gods. Again, it is not validated as fact.
Then there are certain flaws in the message which question its authenticity. It is said that Dr. Howard Steingeril collected many hymns from around the world and called Gayathri Mantra as the most powerful one, but nowhere it is mentioned as to what were the other mantras. The part of the message saying Gayatri Mantra “produced 110,000 sound waves per second” does not really make complete sense. If the statement is referring to wavelength, then human ears cannot hear anything about 20,000 wavelengths per second. Moreover, a scientist is unlikely to use a word like ‘spiritual potentialities’. So all this concludes to saying the said scientific research concluding Gayathri Mantra is the most powerful hymn in the world is most certainly a hoax.
Nevertheless, Gayatri Mantra is a great Mantra in itself and in fact popular Hindu hymn. Many Television channels also broadcast it daily around the world. Many people meditating and chanting this mantra experience great results in their well-being. Likewise, they mention it in their biographies – as explained in the video above. Studies show regular chanting of Gayatri Mantra in fact improves attention levels. We also believe the Gayathri Mantra, in its true spirit, promotes discipline and dedication in oneself, elevating the person into an energized and lively state of well-being. All in all, chanting it regularly will certainly help!
