The monster crocodile is suspected of killing six people in the Jinja and Mayuge districts of Uganda, including the latest victim who left behind a wife and two children, reported News Vision, a Ugandan daily newspaper. The fishermen were frightened to fish for food, so the residents requested the Uganda Wildlife Authority to capture the crocodile.

The game wardens along with the Uganda Wildlife Authority used meat on a hook as bait and caught the monstrous one-ton (2,200 pound) crocodile in Kakira sub-county, Jinja on 31st March 2014 after four-day hunt. The one-ton reptile is believed to be about 80 years old and was later relocated to the Murchison Falls National Park. Shown in the video below is a footage of the capture incident.

Although the giant, man-eating crocodile weighed one-ton, it is not the largest crocodile. Lolong, a saltwater crocodile that was caught in the Philippines measured 20 feet 3 inches (6.17 m) and weighed 1,075 kg was the largest crocodile in captivity. The reptile died in February 2013 and was estimated to be at least 50 years old.
