A picture message in circulation online purports to show a Miracle in India where a Mother gave Birth to 105 Year Old Baby! Accompanying pictures do indeed show the baby has wrinkly skin and looks very old. However, the claim that the baby is 105 years old is not true.

Claims About 105 Years Old Baby Born in India

The claims in question are doing rounds online through social media and online outlets like itechsky.net. Note the website name is available in the other picture circulating on Twitter and WhatsApp. Allegedly, a doctor conducted the blood test see the baby is 105-year-old. They also quote a Quran verse saying about resurrection with the birth of a very old baby. Moreover, the pictures appeared with other stories like ‘Baby born looking like a 105-year-old man in India‘ and ‘Indian Woman Gave Birth to Miracle Baby Looks 105 Years Old‘.

The Actual Story

Unlike the stories claim, the baby in pictures is not 105 years old. Back in June 2015, the baby was unfortunately born with a rare skin condition – making her skin look wrinkly-old. News about the unusual birth of the baby girl – in seventh month of pregnancy – spread across the village in north India. The baby weighed just 800 grams at birth and her parents rejected her because of her rare skin condition. No one held the baby in hands as they thought they will catch the disease. The abandoned baby was suffering and battling with life for two weeks. Thankfully, her granddaughter came to her rescue. He fed her goat’s milk and managed to get her to a hospital in Maharashtra, India.

Doctors said the baby’s unusual features could be the result of Intra-Uterine Growth Retardation (IUGR) and some Chromosomal abnormality. Mumbai’s Wadia Hospital agreed to meet the cost of her treatment. They also arranged accommodation for the baby’s granddad in the hospital premises.
