Fact Check:

A picture story in circulation online purports to show that Neil Armstrong’s Moon Footprints Don’t Match His Spacesuit in Museum. Some conspiracy theorists in fact showed it as a ‘proof’ to suggest NASA moon landing was staged. So, let us check if the claim is true or false.

Neil Armstrong’s Moon Footprints Don’t Match His Spacesuit?

The story carries two pictures, one shows Neil Armstrong’s astronaut suit preserved in a museum, and the other a footprint on the Moon. It in fact shows Neil Armstrong’s Apollo 11 Spacesuit once sent to National Museum of Natural History for a CT scan. Nonetheless, the picture showing footprint on Moon is not of Neil Armstrong, it belongs to another fellow astronaut Buzz Aldrin. Unlike it, a picture of Neil Armstrong’s first footprints on the Moon can be seen below.

Coming to the disparity between Spacesuit and the footprints, both Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin were actually wearing Overshoes before stepping onto the moon’s surface. Same can be confirmed from the pictures below.

So, the claim that Neil Armstrong’s Footprints on Moon Don’t Match his Spacesuit is a hoax.
