BREAKING!! Fukushima Crisis Escalates Tons of Radioactive Waste Released into the Pacific Causes Ocean to Boil…

[Media wont spread this hence its our responsibility to share and spread it.]

Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe announced that an emergency at the unstable Fukushima Nuclear Plant less than an hour ago is responsible for dumping “thousands of tons of highly radioactive material into the Pacific Ocean.” The Prime Minister said the government has sent in its own nuclear experts who are teamed with TEPCO management who are now attempting to regain control of the facility.

Japan has been anything but forthright with the people of the world about the Fukushima Nuclear Plant disaster that occurred on March 11, 2011.

More than two years after the event just ten days ago it was announced that a “recent incident” had resulted in 300 tonnes (300 long tons; 330 short tons) of “heavily contaminated water” being leaked from a storage tank into the ocean daily.

In Fukushima, all farm produce must be checked for the cesium level prior to shipping. The current government limit is 100 Bq. The farmers know how many Bq of cesium their produce contains. We can ship it if the reading is lower than 100. BUT I WOULD NOT DARE EAT IT MYSELF. The consumers assume there is no radiation in the food they buy. What do you say about this? … We feel guilty about growing it and selling it. We won’t eat it ourselves but we sell it.

The radiation readings in Tamano are almost as high as in Iitate. In the woods, you find spots with 7 to 10 micro Sv/hr everywhere. The decontamination is being done in limited areas. But there are so many cases when the areas outside the crop fields are not measured.

Would you feed your children food with less than 100 Bq? How about 50 Bq? Simple measuring equipment would not detect cesium less than 10 Bq. … The equipment that can measure all of alpha, beta and gamma rays is too expensive. Usually only gamma rays are measured, therefore only cesium. Do you think that consumers really believe ND (not detected) and put the food in their mouth? No, they won’t eat it. I do know that for a fact.

The government claims it [produce] is within allowed level, but TEPCO doesn’t collect data… the government who has authority to restrict the shipment of agricultural products refused to take any actions.

Analysis:

The message is a warning that comes with a picture supposedly showing that Pacific Ocean is boiling now, because of the radiation leaking after Fukushima Nuclear power plant catastrophe in Japan. The message is partially fact.

The initial part of this message is taken from an article of National Report, with a breaking news title ‘Fukushima Crisis Escalates Tons of Radioactive Waste Released into the Pacific Causes Ocean to Boil..‘. The latter part of the message appears to be a personal opinion, which raises concern over the radiation readings around Fukushima Nuclear power plant region, where several leakages happened in the past few years. It must be noted that the National Report is not a complete news website as such. The website has a disclaimer saying:

About Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant Catastrophe

On 11 March 2011, an Earthquake of magnitude 9.0 and 23-foot Tsunami devastated Japan, and has also caused a Nuclear crisis. The cooling systems at the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station failed shortly after the earthquake, and on 12 March, there was an explosion at reactor No. 1. Radioactive material was even detected outside the plant, and the next day, officials believed that partial meltdowns had occurred in reactors No. 1 and No. 3. The cooling systems of another plant at Fukushima Daini had also failed, and as a result, more than 200,000 residents were evacuated from areas surrounding both these facilities.

This series of equipment failures and nuclear meltdowns also led to the release of radioactive materials into the surrounding seas of Pacific Ocean. This was only disclosed on 22 July 2013, more than two years after the incident. Fukushima nuclear catastrophe is often attributed to the negligence of the Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO), which maintains the plant.

On 20 August, in yet another incident, it was announced that 300 tonnes of radioactive contaminated water has been leaking from a storage tank daily, and the leak was assessed as Level 3 on the International Nuclear Event Scale. Following these consequences, on 26 August 2013, the government of Japan took charge of emergency measures to prevent further radioactive water leaks, which reflects their lack of confidence in TEPCO.

The video shows a related news report of NHK World, from which the picture in question is taken. As per the news report, it appears like the picture only shows the cooling and maintenance operations happening around the plant, and does not really show the Pacific Ocean boiling! Japanese journalist Mari Takenouchi also tweeted about this NHK news screenshot saying, “NO, the sea is NOT boiling. I cannot identify the source, but the foggy thing is steam coming from somewhere.” Even the credible news reports only talked about the 300 tonnes of radioactive contaminated water leaking into Pacific from a storage tank in plant daily, but no where it is mentioned that Pacific is boiling.

However, one cannot discard the fact that there are definite concerns over these radioactive leakages and radiation – with more than thousand people from the plant crew expected to get Cancer in future.

Partially fact.
