Analysis:
A popular video supposedly filmed by US Marines claimed to show an Unidentified Flying Object (UFO) bomb-attacking and destroying a Taliban camp in Afghanistan. The said footage shown in the first video was uploaded on YouTube in May 2014 and was also picked up by some news outlets like mail Online (dailymail.co.uk), giving it much more publicity. The claim and the video were however known to be hoax later.
The video claiming to show a UFO attack on Taliban base in Afghanistan was uploaded to YouTube on 5 May 2014 by Section 51, a channel that shows many UFO and paranormal cases as mentioned in their ‘about’ description. If such a mysterious incident did occur for real, it would have easily made into all mainstream news channels – creating headlines. Nothing of that sort happened; the video was later known to be an edited one, and the claim a hoax.
As you can see from the below, original video, which apparently shows ‘US fighter jet’ destroying a ‘car bomb factory in Iraq,’ the editor of the UFO video flipped the Iraq footage horizontally and then added the UFO bit that wasn’t really there. U.S. troops did destroy a homemade bomb factory in the Diyala River Valley in Iraq, during an operation on 1 July 2007.
So the video in question is yet another hoax video; UFOs have been an intriguing phenomenon that gathers wide public attention.
