Analysis:

An interesting video doing rounds heavily online claims to show a massive, black Independence Day-style Flying Saucer UFO with Glowing light spotted in a remote rural community of the Kuala Krai district of Malaysian state of Kelantan. It shows the huge flying object hovering around several palm trees against a tropical backdrop and also the startled cries from panicked villagers as the alleged UFO returns and disappears later. Let us analyze whether the said UFO sighting in Kelantan state of Malaysia is fact or not.

Origin of the UFO Video

The alleged UFO sighting footage in Kelantan was uploaded to YouTube on 1 September 2016 by a user called ‘ooi js’ and it came with a description saying the UFO was sighted and witnessed by the people of Kuala Kerai Kelantan at about 7.30.pm, and the source of information is said to be a national news agency Bernama. The alleged UFO footage caused a momentary panic among netizens, especially in Malaysia, and the video was also featured on some news sites, which is how the story went viral.

Not a Fact

As reported on the Malaysian Digest website malaysiandigest.com, Malaysian police authorities have deemed the video to be fake, as no such report was lodged over the alleged UFO sighting in Kelantan. The story was falsely attributed to have been reported by news agency Bernama.com. Police also issued a public statement for Malaysians not to panic over the fake viral news about the UFO sighting.

Abdullah Roning, the Chief Superintendent of police said the footage was “circulated by individuals who intentions were unknown.” Earlier, somewhat similar video claimed to show a clear and shocking footage of a UFO spotted in Kenya that turned out to be hoax. The UFO sighting video in Kelantan is mostly as an elaborate CGI (Computer-generated imagery) prank, also considering the fact that Malaysia’s Independence day happens to be on 31st August, and the video featuring Independence day style flying saucer was posted to YouTube the very next day on 1st September.

Update: 08 Sep 2016

The UFO footage allegedly shot over Kelantan in Malaysia is in fact taken from an old video that appeared on YouTube back in August 2007, as a UFO sighting in Los Roques, Venezuela (second video below). As we expected, the original UFO video was a CGI hoax, made as part of a UFO series (the description of the video reveals same). One part of the UFO sighting in the video was framed out, edited and mirrored before being falsely presented as a huge ‘UFO’ recording in Kelantan.
