About the Ethiopian Plane Crash
On 10th of March 2019, American Boeing 737 Max 8 Plane took off from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, to Nairobi, Kenya. Unfortunately, shortly after 6 minutes, the new plane crashed in Bishoftu killing all the 157 people aboard. Before the deadly crash, the plane reported technical problems and asked for permission to turn back. Witnesses of the crash said the plane was smoking and swerving before the crash. Below is a video showing the aftermath of the unfortunate, deadly crash. Note, the crash site is not like the area the video in question shows.
Boeing 747 Crash in Afghanistan
Yes, the video does not show the Ethiopian plane crash. What you see in the video is in fact the crash of an American Boeing 747 Cargo Jet at Bagram Air Field, North of Kabul in Afghanistan. The crash took place back on 29th April 2013 when the plane lost control after take-off, due to load shift. As you can see in the video, the cargo plane stalls for a while, fails to gain altitude, crashes onto the ground and bursts into a fireball. The plane destined for Dubai Al Maktoum was carrying military vehicles and seven crewmembers were killed in the deadly crash. The dash cam footage of the crash from a car driving nearby appeared on LiveLeak before it went viral elsewhere. Below is the full video on YouTube.
Note that on social media sites, we have also seen some pictures of old plane crashes falsely shared as glimpses from the Ethiopian plane crash in March 2019.
