The photographs in question became popular after they went viral on Mexican social media. They appeared to show a young boy getting married to an adult woman – both dressed as bride and groom. So, viewers condemned the marriage talking about trafficking and exploitation of the child. The truth of the photographs is however something else, far from child marriage or trafficking. The groom in the photographs – looking like a child – is in fact a 19 years old adult Jonathan. He suffers from a rare disorder that shunts his growth and makes him look lot younger than his actual age.
Despite the condition, Jonathan managed to find love and arrange wedding on 4th of May 2019. The celebration took place in Xaltianguis municipality of Acapulco City, Mexico in front of some family members and friends. Next day on 5th May, Facebook page Esto Es Guerrero shared some photos from the event with actual description.
