Source

The video claiming to show a man jumping out of airplane without parachute onto a trampoline was shared on Facebook by Sector6 on 21 November 2014. They said that the stunt really happened in their California Park as the specially designed trampolines would absorb the impact from the jump, and that the jumper Travis was wearing on his belt a “revolutionary” geomagnetic positioning system that guided him.

Facts

Firstly, the crazy stunt footage presented as a news clip from “SKY NEWZ” (which sounds like genuine Sky News) is not a real media organization (note the ‘VIRAL’ wording below the logo). Sector 6, which is a Trampoline Park & Aerial Sports Venue said the stunt ‘Really Happened at our California Park,’ however, they do not have any such facility in California. Critics have pointed that the science behind the stunt is somewhat farcical, also because the terminal velocity of a falling human being with arms and legs outstretched would be about 120 miles per hour. No wonder why the screen goes blank and an error message appears saying ‘Connection Lost’ before the actual (fake) landing takes place on trampoline.

The fact of the matter, as shown at the end of the video showing ‘Go Big’, is that the video is simply a clever advertisement to promote the New Sector 6 Trampoline Park in New Orleans, LA. Although it is hoax, the hundreds and thousands of shares the video gathered shows the power of a viral video.

Hoax or Fact:

Hoax.
