Microsoft planned the pop-up warnings to notify users that Windows XP operating system support is ending on 8th April 2014 and to entice them to upgrade. The pop up notification includes a link to Microsoft’s Windows XP end of support website, where the user can find all the required information about the end of support for Windows XP, what it means, and how they can stay protected against security risks and viruses after April 8th. The pop up notification will reoccur on the 8th of every month unless disabled by the user.
