It will crash your computer. Geeksquad says it’s one of the Worst trojan viruses there is and it is spreading quickly. Please re-post and let your friends know.

Fact Check:

Many messages were circulating rapidly on Facebook warning users not to install the “Christmas tree app”, saying that it is a destructive Facebook virus. However, it is not a fact and just a hoax to create confusion.

Origin of the Christmas Tree App Virus Warning

The original version of this hoax started way back in November 2010, that says that  Geeksquad has identified one of the worst trojan viruses ever and that it is spreading rapidly. The messages were asking people to repost and share the message with everyone. However, the claimed message is not a fact. There is no such computer security threat on Facebook relating to the “Christmas tree app”. In fact, Geek Squad also denied it.

“In actuality, Geek Squad has not officially investigated this particular application, nor have we identified it as the source of any infections in any cases we have supported.”

However, Facebook users must note there are number of Facebook applications available in the name of “Christmas Tree”. So, be cautious with deceptive links that can install insecure applications.
