Messages circulating on Facebook warn people of Christopher and Jessica Davies, that they are hackers who are gaining access to people’s computers by simply fooling them into accepting their friend requests. The message also suggests that if you accept their friend request and add them as a “friend” on your contact list, you are giving away the hackers the access to your computer and also that of everyone else on your friend list. Such a hacking is not possible, the warning is a hoax.

Facebook Friend Request Hacker Attempt?

It is a fact that hackers generally do employ variety of ways to trick users and gain access to their computers, but even the best of hackers cannot control your computer just because you have accepted his friend request on Facebook. For hacking to take place, there should be some kind of exchange of data/information or file transfer. These messages have been circulating in various versions actually, both in text and graphic versions, ever since Facebook networking became popular; and some of these even claimed you will get a virus if you add friend request of a particular person (hacker) on Facebook. Again, this is not possible.

Note, the false warning messages are doing rounds online since many years with various ‘Hacker’ names like Christopher Davies, Tanner Dwyer, Bobby Roberts and Andrea Wilson. These messages appear to originate from some pranksters. Facebook users must note that hoaxers like these will generally use ALL CAPS message with lots of exclamation points, and to add credibility to their message, they will also say it is confirmed by Facebook.

So whatever the hacker names and claims of threat, one cannot hack your computer or spread virus when you simply accept his friend request on Facebook.
