A viral story on Facebook warns people that a New Deadly Spider Spreads Across USA, adding five people have already died due to its Bite. Allegedly, the Spider from Hell is so deadly that just one bite of it can kill you. So the message warns people in USA to be careful of it – adding the Government is working on a anti-venom. No, as explained below, the claims that a New Deadly Spider Spreads Across USA are not true.

No New Deadly Spider Spreads Across USA

According to Illinois Department of Public Health website idph.state.il.us, the picture coming with the story shows Woodlouse Spider bearing scientific name Dysdera crocata. Woodlouse Spider has about half-inch long body and with six eyes, it is most active at night. Woodlouse Spider is not dangeous to humans and its bites are not lethal. The Spider may become defensive when threatened, and bites usually result only in redness and pain for less than an hour. On the other hand, there are no credible news reports saying a new deadly Spider spreads across USA. There’s no such new ‘Spider from Hell’ that has bitten people and caused five human deaths in US States. And needless to say the US Government is not working on making anti-venom for such Spider bite.
