Fact Check:

A viral video in heavy circulation online purports to show American President Donald Trump got Scared of Allah Hu Akbar slogan from Crowd. The video appears to show someone in background shouting the Islamic slogan during Trump’s speech, after which he allegedly gets scared and security personnel come on stage to guard him. No, the claims as such are not true – the video is doctored and comes from different context.

Not Allah Hu Akbar Slogan Scaring Donald Trump

The claims in question are doing rounds on social media platforms since at least August 2018. However, the incident does not show someone scaring Trump with the slogan – it is from a different context. The speech of Donald Trump comes from one of his Presidential campaign rally back on 12th March 2016 in Ohio. While Trump was speaking, suddenly a protester from the crowd jumps the barriers and tries to rush on to the stage. Security officials responded immediately, catching the man and guarding Trump on stage. Trump was surprised and bit scared at the incident and turned back suddenly to see what’s going on. Below is a video from another angle showing full view of the actual incident.

Police arrested the protester Thomas Dimassimo and charged him with disorderly conduct and inducing panic. He was released on bail later. Coming to the claim in question, no one from the crowd shouted the ‘Allah Hu Akbar’ slogan. So, someone doctored the video adding voice of Allah hu Akbar and created a fabricated, panic story.

On a lighter note, on 1st July 2019, Bernie Sanders, U.S. Senator for Vermont and candidate for U.S. President shared a funny doctored video from the same incident with Donald Trump.
