Alien on the Moon Caught on Video from Apollo 11 Mission

Fact Check:

A video is doing rounds on social media purporting to show an Alien Found on the Moon during Apollo 11 Mission. It appears to show a humanoid like creature in far away distance on moon, as the person recording the video exclaims about the find. What you see is not any real Alien, but footage from a short film.

Not Any Alien on Moon from Apollo 11 Mission

The short clipping with Alien claims is in fact a short film, i.e. fictional work of director Aristomenis Tsirbas appearing as MeniThings on YouTube. The video with title ‘Alien on the Moon‘ was part of the Project Blue Book short film series. The old video uploaded in September 2015 garnered millions of views on YouTube. As a matter of fact, YouTube channel MeniThings shares many such videos of UFO, Aliens and other paranormal entities. Description of the channel itself states it is a film production company of director Aristomenis Tsirbas.

Similar Claim in Past

Alien finding on Moon is not a new claim on internet space. In July 2014, a ‘NASA video’ appeared claiming to show famous image of Alien walking on the Moon. The odd figure on the Moon was in fact posted by YouTube user Wowforreel and garnered millions of views at the time. He shared about the irregularly shaped dark spot on Google Moon.

Again, the YouTube channel is a fun platform. It did not say the dark spot on Moon was Alien. NASA also clarified it is simply “dust, an eyelash or scratch on the negative” of the film that took the image. NASA scientists mentioned the image was taken by either the Apollo 15 or 17 manned missions to the Moon in 1971 and 1972 respectively. They also called the claim a case of Pareidolia.

From the First Moon Landing

The first Moon landing had something to do with Alien existence there. Astronauts Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin walked on Earth’s Moon for the first time in human history on 20th July 1969. Four days later, both of them along with Apollo 11 command module pilot Michael Collins were locked up on an American aircraft carrier in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. The triumphant astronauts were moved to a modified trailer aboard the USS Hornet for a 21-day isolation period. It was to ensure no potentially hazardous lunar microbes hitchhiked back to Earth with them.

NASA later confirmed there were no tiny aliens lurking in the astronauts’ armpits or in the 50 pounds of lunar rocks and soil they collected. Apart from USA, China, India and Japan have conducted lunar exploration and carried out very detailed surveys of the moon. They did not find any Alien base. Yang Yuguang, vice chair of Space Transportation Committee of the International Astronautical Federation has the below opinion.

“We can confirm that there are no intelligent life forms outside Earth. But it is possible to have very low level life forms, such as germ, bacteria, on other celestial bodies.”

Despite the very poor evidence, about 30 percent of public thinks Aliens visit the Earth in saucers.
