A short video clip that went viral online purports to show a ‘heart breaking’ moment when a Disabled child in wheelchair reaches up twice to shake hand with the United States President, but Donald Trump overlooked to ignore him. Although the video is real, what is conveyed about Donald Trump ignoring the disabled toddler is not a fact.

About the Video

The video clip in question is taken from an event in late July 2017 when the U.S. President Donald Trump gave a statement on Healthcare in America, meeting some citizens shown as “victims of Obamacare”. Some viewers thought the video was edited to remove the portion when the President Donald Trump could have possibly responded to the child in wheelchair, but as such it is not true. The incident appearing in the video is real. However, Trump actually met and spoke to the disabled child in wheelchair earlier as he came to the event. You can see the same in The White House video of the event shown below.

The boy appears to hold something in his hand, and was probably trying to show the same in the second instance when Trump was around him meeting his mother. So the claim that Donald Trump ignored a disabled child in wheelchair trying to shake hand with him is a hoax.
