A picture message viral on social media purports to show Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi Touching Sonia Gandhi’s Feet. There’s also another picture doing rounds claiming to show Modi touching feet of a Shaikh in Saudi Arabia. The picture of Modi touching the feet of former Congress President Sonia Gandhi also accompanies messages suggesting Modi is requesting her to go easy on him. No, the claims are not facts – the pictures are just Photoshop creations.
Not Modi Touching Sonia Gandhi’s Feet
Yes, the original picture does not actually show Modi touching the feet of Sonia Gandhi or Arab Shaikh for that matter. The picture taken from September 2013 in fact shows Narendra Modi, the BJP’s candidate for Prime Minister, touching the feet of L.K. Advani, the former deputy Prime Minister in a public meeting in Bhopal.
Earlier, there was another picture of Modi touching the feet of MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi, which again was photoshopped. So, the pictures and stories claiming to show Indian PM Narendra Modi touching the feet of Sonia Gandhi, Arab Shaikh or Akbaruddin Owaisi are just Photoshop fakes.
