Some messages circulating widely on social media and WhatsApp allege to show Bollywood actor Shahrukh Khan Arrested at London’s Heathrow Airport after he came to participate in Anti-CAA Protest. The messages refer to Citizenship Amendment Act 2019 in India and the protests which followed thereafter. The messages also accompany a picture allegedly showing the actor arrested at airport. No, the claims are not true – Shah Rukh Khan was not arrested.
Shahrukh Khan Not Arrested for Any CAA Protest
The claim in question appeared on Twitter, Facebook and also WhatsApp making it popular on internet space. Accompanying messages in English and Hindi also claim the main opposition parties in India saying the arrest is a matter of shame to India. They also claim the whole thing is a conspiracy of RSS and the new government of Britain. On the other hand, some messages even went on to ask Hindus, if they still want to watch Shah Rukh Khan’s movies.
In contrast to the claims, the accompany picture of Shah Rukh Khan is an old one dating back to 21st June 2012. It in fact shows him arriving at BBC Radio 2 in London amidst a crowd of dedicated fans and press. You can see some other pictures of Shah Rukh Khan in the Gallery below.

Unlike the claim in question, there are no credible reports on arrest of Shah Rukh Khan for any kind of protests against CAA. The claims in question surfaced on social media in late December 2019. The actor was not in London at the time. He spent his New Year eve with his family and friends in India. Times Fact Check also refuted the claims.
Bollywood’s popular hero Shah Rukh Khan has been silent on the matter. He did not comment anything on CAA and the protests in Jamia Millia Islamia University and others. Some netizens became furious over the actor’s silence. They pointed the actor pursued his mass communication at the Jamia Millia Institute in the late 1980s and is also an alumnus of Jamia University. However, on the occasion of New Year, the actor sent out wishes to everyone on Twitter.
