A message doing rounds on social media claims to show that by Mistake, the Army of Pakistan Shoots Own Aircraft Out of Fear of Attack from India. The context is the aftermath of deadly terrorist attack in Pulwama killing more than 40 CRPF personals of India. Indian armed forces killed three Jaish-e-Mohammad terrorists in retaliation. Then surfaced the messages on social media saying Pakistan Army mistakenly shoots down its own Aircraft, out of fear. No, as explained below, the claim is not a fact.
Pakistan Shoots Own Aircraft – Satire Origin
On 21st February 2019, TheFauxy website thefauxy.com published an article with title “Out Of Fear, Pakistan Army Mistakenly Shoots Down Its Own Aircraft“. According to it, Pakistan is under tremendous panic mode after the terrorist attack in Pulwama and the retaliation from Indian armed forces. The article stated Pakistan Army spotted an aircraft hovering above the LOC (Line of Control), mistook it for an Indian Airforce aircraft and shot down their own aircraft.
Since then the claims saying Pakistan shoots own Aircraft appeared on Facebook and other social media sites, in Hindi language also. However, no such incident took place. TheFauxy, as the name suggests, is a Satirical website publishing work of fiction. It also carries the below ‘about us’ disclaimer at the bottom of their website:

As far as the image of plane crash is concerned, it comes from an unrelated accident that took place in Belgium last year in October 2018. It happened when a Belgian mechanic accidentally opened fire on and destroyed an F-16 fighter jet while servicing another warplane.
So, the picture message claiming to show Pakistan shoots own Aircraft out of fear from India is just a work of satire and fiction.
