A story shared on social media purports to show a BJP candidate Jagannath Sarkar Campaigning for Elections in Lord Hanuman Disguise. On 22nd April 2019, the BJP candidate shared some pictures from his road show rally from Badkulla to Bagula, where the State President Dilip Ghosh also joined. While the pictures do not show the candidate in any such make-up, one of them shows another capture of the man in Hanuman disguise.

Dilip Ghosh also shared pictures from the rally on his Facebook account showing himself beside the BJP candidate Jagannath Sarkar. Note the picture in question appears there.

Later, on 27th April again, Jagannath Sarkar shared similar pictures from election campaign rally in Shantipur. They show a group of other people dressed in Ramayana epic characters – Ram, Sita, Lakshman and Hanuman. All those pictures are in fact taken during the BJP candidate’s campaign before 2019 Lok Sabha elections. But dressed as Hanuman is not the BJP candidate Jagannath Sarkar, they appear to be his supporters.
