Fact Check:
The story viral on social media purports to show 7 BJP Candidates in Uttar Pradesh Winning the 2019 Lok Sabha elections with the same – 211820 – number of EVM Votes. The figures are shown questioning the authenticity of the EVM polls, claiming the machines are hacked and results preset. No, the claims are not true.
About ‘7 BJP Candidates Winning 211820 EVM Votes’
The messages in question appeared on various social media sites couple of days after the declaration of Indian lok sabha election results on 23rd May 2019. They mentioned seven names of BJP candidates who won prominent seats in Uttar Pradesh, albeit with the same number of EVM votes. Some also carried screenshots alleging to prove the same, adding sarcastic comments like it is the eighth wonder of the world. They suggested such results are impossible without EVM fraud. These messages appeared widely on Facebook, Twitter and also in WhatsApp forwards.
Despite the claims, when we checked those results from Election Commission of India website eci.gov.in, the EVM figures are far different from 211820. Listed below are the mentioned BJP candidates, their constituency in UP and the number of votes they won through EVM polls.

Quite clearly, the EVM vote figures are far different from 211820. In fact, none of them have gained that number of votes. Interestingly, some of those screenshots coming with the messages show Congress candidates getting exactly 140295 votes and NOTA getting exactly 1964 votes. All this concludes to saying those are just fabricated figures. The messages claiming 7 BJP candidates everyone winning the same 211820 number of EVM votes in UP are therefore hoaxes.
